Well this is the almost universal method to make a local
specialty, spam musubis. It does not take much time to prepare and is quite easy. The only difficult part is obtaining the materials needed especially the musubi maker.

Materials
Musubi Maker
Flat, clean surface to work on
Rice cooker
Pan

Ingredients
Sushi rice 5-6 cups
5 sheets of nori seaweed (cut lengthwise as specified on the     picture)
1 can of Spam
Bottle of furikake (optional)
5 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp mirin
4 tbsp sugar

Cut the spam lengthwise into 8 to 10 slices. Put them into a pan and fry them until they are a little crispy. Remove the spam from the pan. Add mirin, soy sauce and the sugar and mix them in the pan then add the spam again to coat. Next, lay a sheet of nori seaweed as described on the picture. Now, put the musubi maker as described on the picture. Fill the maker with rice then using the musubi presser, press until the rice is 3/4 to 1 inch high. You now can add the furikake to season then add the slice of spam. Remove the musubi maker while pressing with the presser then remove the presser. Wrap the rice and spam with the nori seaweed and seal it by moistening the nori seaweed where it meets.

Thats all...enjoy your spam musubi. By the way, you could subsitute the spam musubi with anything. I've done marinated chicken and hot dogs before. ~ Kat
